Thanks, Dog!
Mightee Kids February 2013

I've said before that Zion gets a little green every time I get a fun box in the mail.  So now when she gets her own Mightee Kids box in the mail every month - she is thrilled!  We love sitting down together to open her own box, and February's box certainly didn't disappoint!
This month's box features this adorable navy blue tee with a cute sweater-wearing Boston Terrier and the words, "Thanks, Dog!" The cause being featured this month is Canines for Disabled Kids.

After checking out the cute shirt, we sat down together to talk about service dogs using the postcard they provide with the box.  We learned about the different types of dogs and how they help kids with physical and emotional disabilities to perform daily functions.  Did you know that there are dogs that are trained to turn on and off the lights?  Or that there are special dogs specifically trained to help children with Autism?
Zion couldn't wait to show off her new Mightee Kids shirt, especially after learning the meaning behind it.  I know this box is for her, but I can't help but get excited for the box to arrive each month!  It gives me a creative way to help Zion understand and develop compassion for kids who have disabilities or are in less fortunate circumstances.  Mightee Kids makes it easy to do, giving me great talking points to share with her, and for ever shirt purchased $5 is donated to the month's cause!

How do you develop compassion in your little one?  What are your favorite causes or charities to support?
