Casual & Glam Floral Sashes Eight Tree Street

Hi! I'm Maribel, mommy to four kiddos and wife to a wonderful guy. When I'm not busy with the family, I design florals and wedding accessories at EightTreeStreet, and write for my blog.

Today I am sharing with you my new found love: casual and glam floral, ribbon and fabric sashes. Ribbon belt sashes are a popular accents today in weddings, but they also make a fabulous and colorful fashion statement in everyday wear.

Ribbon sashes dress up your look from office to playground to a night out on the town, and they are very inexpensive and super easy to make. You can accessorize with sashes for a glam time at a wedding, they make the most gorgeous additions to a wedding dress. Wedding sashes can include ribbon, millinery flowers, brooches and a little bling for sparkling decor as well as handmade touches with fabric flowers, just divine!

For a casual yet chic playground attire, tie a favorite ribbon or a handmade flower sash around your waist over a simple T-shirt t for a perfect look. Here's a casual design fit for mommy or little gal. I love this Amy Buttler fabric sash, they will look amazing paired with a casual shirt and a pair of jeans.

We are obsessed quite smitten with the newly released clothing line and online boutique, Gardner and the Gang, designed by the amazingly talented Swedish graphic designer, Kristin Nystrom.

The garments are all 100% cotton, printed with silk screen printing.  The material is high quality, and didn't lose any of its luster, even after washing in the unforgiving industrial laundry machines of New York City.  I am super impressed by the fabric quality and texture; everything has that "favorite cotton t-shirt" feeling to it.  

Zion is totally comfortable and relaxed while wearing her Helmut Harem pant…while at the same time she looks upscale, modern and fashionable, the perfect combination of cute and cool for New York City.  My husband at first thought the harem pants might be weird, but he actually loves the way they look on Zion, as do I, they are our favorite item from the collection so far.  Did I mention she loves pockets?

Every year when Girl Scouts across America launch their fundraising with their deliciously satisfying boxes of cookies - I get excited.  I love their little colorful boxes of decadent cookie-goodness!  When I recently was invited to an event at Dylan's Candy Store - for the launch of the limited edition Nestle Crunch Girls Scouts Candy-bars - I was like - "WHOA! GIRL SCOUTS CANDY-BARS?" 

While I couldn't attend the event itself, I knew I had to get my hands on these limited edition treats!  Friends, let me just tell you, these little bars are MAGIC in your mouth.  They come in three different flavors - Thin Mint, Peanut Butter Creme, and my ultimate favorite - Caramel & Coconut (Samoas Anyone?!!!)

The idea of working with the Girl Scouts brand and a licensing agreement just clicked on so many levels.  Crunch is a brand that has such a strong all-American heritage, from our red, white, and blue wrapper to the fact that it has been a sweet part of American households since the 1930s.  Of course, Girl Scouts is the quintessential all-American organization with an incredible mission, and a sweet history of being the largest girl-led business in the country with its Girl Scout Cookie sales.~Nestle Crunch

After tasting, and enjoying these I can honestly say they are incredibly yummy - the hubs and daughter couldn't agree more!  We received a box of the fun size bars on a Friday and all but 3 were gone by Monday!
