Casual & Glam Floral Sashes

Eight Tree Street

Hi! I'm Maribel, mommy to four kiddos and wife to a wonderful guy. When I'm not busy with the family, I design florals and wedding accessories at EightTreeStreet, and write for my blog.

Today I am sharing with you my new found love: casual and glam floral, ribbon and fabric sashes. Ribbon belt sashes are a popular accents today in weddings, but they also make a fabulous and colorful fashion statement in everyday wear.

Ribbon sashes dress up your look from office to playground to a night out on the town, and they are very inexpensive and super easy to make. You can accessorize with sashes for a glam time at a wedding, they make the most gorgeous additions to a wedding dress. Wedding sashes can include ribbon, millinery flowers, brooches and a little bling for sparkling decor as well as handmade touches with fabric flowers, just divine!
For a casual yet chic playground attire, tie a favorite ribbon or a handmade flower sash around your waist over a simple T-shirt t for a perfect look. Here's a casual design fit for mommy or little gal. I love this Amy Buttler fabric sash, they will look amazing paired with a casual shirt and a pair of jeans.
You can make a sash to enhance pillows, chair backs for a party or event, or use as a curtain tiebacks.

Twips for my Tweeties

Meet & Tweet Twitter Hop

Lovelies - It is time that I convince you of why

you MUST simply get a twitter account.

Why Twitter?  Well, I must first say that Facebook is going to become obsolete.  Yes, I just said that (gasp!)  I know this because almost every conversation I have with people about Facebook now inevitably includes a groan or two or three.

However; TWITTER, is going to stay.  And you should get in on Twitter now for several reasons:

#1  Twitter offers bite size information:  Think about how most people tend to read newspapers - headlines that catch their eye or maybe a single image - if those two things don't get me, I'm probably not going to read the article.  Twitter is like a plethora of headline/tagline browsing without the clutter or investment.  I strongly suggest attaching images to your tweets!

#2  Twitter offers measurable results: Using certain platforms you can now track clicks on your tweets, schedule your tweets for greater visibility and interact/engage with your audience more easily than ever.  Even if you have no time to get on twitter and interact - you can still get your blog posts, instagrams and check-ins to post directly/automatically to twitter which is great for your brand and exposure.

#3 Klout - okay, so Klout does still take into account Facebook, but honestly - no matter what you are thinking about it at this point, it is the first and most successful tool to measure true online influence.  I have read articles of people with high Klout scores getting free travel perks, upgrades, vip event access, etc. just for being an influencer.  But not only that, Brands and PR Firms are going to look to your Klout score more and more to evaluate your true influence.  A big part of your Klout score comes from your Twitter activity.  Why?  Because Twitter=Boss.

Have I convinced you yet?  Go sign-up for your twitter account now, and then let's chat about it - send me a message @baxtronlife and I can walk you through it.  Make sure you link-up your shiny new account below for an instant boost in followers! <3

Just Words

It's been an awfully long week.  It seems like the past week was such a grueling test in the life of this mama.  My week was filled with stubborn and willful boundary testing by my two year old; hormonal highs and lows; long, deep and sometimes challenging conversations with the mister; emotional and spiritual exhaustion from lack of time spent with my Father; sleep deprivation; etc. etc. etc.

But,

In the midst of all the challenge, there has been wonder - and awe - and moments of refreshment.  Truly, the Lord has not left me with more than I can bear.  I've been blessed with many beautiful friendships.  A home in a crazy - ridiculous city that is feeling more home like every day.  There have been a few breakthroughs in my healing this week.

I'm tired as I write, this - not feeling 100% well, but I'm looking out at the horizon of my life - and I see beautiful things coming my way.  I feel hopeful.  I feel that despite my physical and emotional exhaustion, very much alive.  Very much fulfilled.  Indeed very grateful.

And now,

I'm going to go make a big batch of popcorn - hippy popcorn as we call it (recipe needs to be shared) - and sit down for a little quiet time with my love, before we start this week's grind.
