Manicure Secret: Neutrogena Hand Cream

It's a Mani-Monday Double Feature!!  I'm sharing another manicure secret weapon today, Neutrogena Norwegian Formula Hand Cream!  I recently started using this rich and creamy hand cream to protect my hands and nails from the harsh cold of Winter.  Now I don't leave home without it!
It's glycerin-rich formula is long-lasting and not only keeps my hands soft and moisturized, I've noticed that my nails are stronger and more conditioned as well!
The full size product retails for around $4.99, and just a little bit goes a long way!  It's also great for protecting your lips and feels silky smooth, not sticky, when applied.
Featured Products:
Julep: Polishes- Felicity & Julia, Basecoat & Glycolic Hand Scrub
Essie: Good-to-go Top Coat
Neutrogena: Norwegian Formula Hand Cream

I received free Neutrogena Hand Cream by participating in a BzzAgent Campaign, however; views expressed in this post are my own!

Manicure Secret: Kiss Nail Dress

I love a good quality spa manicure.  But not quite as much as I love a manicure that I can do at home in 10 minutes that doesn't require drying!  I am becoming quite obsessed with these gorgeous mani decals from Kiss!  With Kiss Nail Dress you just peel, apply and shape!  No drying and no top coat necessary.  They are super easy to apply:

The package comes with 28 strips, plenty for hands AND toes - yep! They even work great for pedicures!  First, size up the strips, I've found you want to go a size larger than you think fits - then peel and stick on your clean nail, smoothing upward and holding pressure to bond the adhesive.  Next, fold over the top/excess and then, using the included file, just file off the extra.  It's really that simple! I did both hands in about 10 minutes!
Check out the other great designs, which they are always updating!  You can also cut the decals to make fun designs and mix and match patterns.  Then, when you are ready to change up your nails, you just peel the decals off and rub any excess adhesive off of your nails.  No damage, no mess, its seriously one of my favorite ways to have fabulous nails!

Which Kiss Nail Dress would you like to try?

P.S. Save 50% + Free Shipping on Kiss Nail Dress thru 1/31/13 via BeautyOnlineSupply!!

I received a complimentary Kiss Nail Dress product for review purposes via Influenster's Holiday Voxbox.  All opinions expressed are my own.

Say Cheese!

with Mightee Kids

There is something lovely about getting packages in the mail.  I call them little surprises.  Every month I look forward to my monthly beauty subscriptions - which send me goodies that I just love.  I've seen so many great boxes come through, but I've never seen anything as lovely as what I am about to share.

When I get my monthly packages - Zion is always excited to see what I get.  This month, Zion got a package of her own, from Mightee Kids.  This organization has created one of the best boxes ever - because it has immeasurable value.  Each box contains a children's t-shirt featuring a very special cause of the month.

This month's charity is Smile Train, an organization dedicated to providing life-saving Cleft-lip/palate surgeries to children in need.  For every tee that is purchased $5 is donated to the charity.  Inside the each Mightee Kids box is a special notecard that explains the cause of the month as well as talking points to discuss with your kids.

The tee is super cool, and I feel good about it knowing that it stands for a great cause.  Zion is excited because not only is she helping other children, she gets her own very special package in the mail to look forward to!

Check out Mightee Kids to view the details - you can purchase a single tee or subscribe for a monthly box.  Oh, and for the rest of the month - they are doubling their contributions to Smile Train - so $10 of every purchase will go directly to the Smile Train!

Connect with Mightee Kids via: Facebook // Twitter // Pinterest!

I received this month's Mightee Kids box complimentary to review - however; I plan on signing up right away because I love the concept so much.  All praises expressed above are sincere!

Customizable Diaper Disposal for Small Spaces

The Diaper One-N-Done + Giveaway

Meet my new friend, the Diaper One N Done, a diaper disposal system for those in the land of small spaces - or simply those who don't want to store a bin holding 30 smelly diapers in their home!

The Diaper One N Done may lack the sexiness of some of its larger disposal peers, but what it lacks in looks, it makes up for in ingenuity.  The bin was created for those who like their home to smell free of soiled diapers and are tired of the complexities of trying to empty other larger disposal systems.  And it is perfect for your typical New York City apartment.

We got this little guy right before the holidays and spent some time testing its features so we could share it with you.  The unit will stand on its own or features these great hooks on the back so it can hang off the changing table.  As you are changing your kiddo, you can toss the soiled diaper, wipes, etc. all into the bin without having these items set about where a small hand could potentially grab.  When you are finished with the change, simply pull the bag up, seal it with a knot, and detach the bag from the next bag (sort of like a grocery produce bag).  Voila!

Overall, I'm satisfied with the product and its concept.  I expressed to the very gracious creator of the product, I'd love it to be, well, a little more aesthetically pleasing and then noticed they had created some cute designs for the pails, and left the white one to be customizable.  I got the itch to be crafty, so I went and picked up a couple of scrapbook papers that had designs I liked and some double sided tape.  I had originally wanted to use contact paper - but couldn't find any designs I was crazy about.

I'm not going to lie, I'm pretty sure I nailed this re-design.  Now it matches the colors of Zion's room, and looks a lot sexier! Honestly, I feel like it's almost better to offer it plain so that you can customize it like I did!

My only other feedback was that I'd really love it if scented bags were available as well.  The current bags are clear and come in rolls of 50.  And they are currently having a special deal through the end of January - buy 3 and get the 4th free!

Zion loves putting her own diaper in the little bin.  Now if I could just get bag to walk itself out to the trash!

The lovely inventors of this nifty system have graciously offered to give a Diaper One N Done to one of my lucky readers!  If you have any friends that are expecting - this makes a great shower gift - be sure to check out their gift baskets!  To enter, simply visit The Diaper One N Done shop and leave a comment below with your email address and which unit you would like sent to you if you win!

Mandatory entry: 1) Leave a comment with your email and which unit you want if you win.
Additional entries (leave a separate comment for each one): 2) Like the Diaper One N Done on Facebook, 3) Share the giveaway on any social media (1 comment/entry for each share - include URL).
Ends: 1/31/13 at 11:59pm.

I received a complimentary Diaper One N Done unit for my review, however; all opinions expressed in this post are unsolicited and my own.

Sojourn in the Valley

I originally shared this post over at my friend Kim's blog, but feel like it makes sense to post it here now, so you all know where I'm at/where I've been.

Over the last year or so of my life I've been focused on coming out of a huge denial about painful things I'd experienced early in my life.  As a result of my inward focus, I have been able to finally start working through the pain, accepting it, grieving, processing and taking small steps forward from it.  I have also learned that perhaps a season of deep introspection can be necessary and vital but it is important not to remain stuck in this place for too long.

At some point in dealing with grief you reach a place where you realize that God is not going to take away your pain...at least not in the way our hearts desire.  I recently heard this great quote by a Christian Psychologist, "We want God to take away our fear, remove our pain and provide a reasonably pleasant life.  But God wants to meet us in our pain, and comfort us with himself."  As soon as I heard these words it was as if God himself was speaking them to me.

I had been praying and hoping that I would somehow reach the end of my pain.  And as a result I've been sort of limping my way through life, putting most things on hold in order to wait for the pain to go away.  And in this waiting my focus has been mostly on the pain, mostly on my feelings, mostly on my memories, and when you are this focused on the struggle, the solution is almost completely hidden from your view.

On the way home from Thanksgiving I started to realize that God was working on my heart, a lot.  He was nudging me away from focusing on all the pain and trouble and remembering to keep my eyes on the one who could provide the comfort, peace and healing that I need, Him.  My husband and I had plenty of time to talk about this on our nine hour drive home from Ohio.  He wholeheartedly agreed that it was getting to be the time that I should start focusing on the solution and less on the problem.

In many ways my faith walk recently has been stifled, as I've faced doubt and uncertainty as my protective shield of denial has cracked and fallen.  I've had anger pouring out of my soul that burns white hot, often sending me into a state of rage then panic when triggered.  I've been scared of who I am, and what I am doing in my life.  And I've been afraid to take these very raw and painful emotions to God.  I've been scared to admit that I'm angry with God for not intervening to prevent the abuse I suffered as a child.  Even though I know that God will not take away free will...even though I know that God orchestrated freedom from those who hurt me later in life.  Even though He has been with me and never left my side through it all...and yet it still hurts to know that some one's choice to sin against me could leave me so deeply wounded.

That person's choice has had an impact on every aspect of my adult life, from the way I relate to my husband and others, to the way I parent my child.

And now my focus has to shift because there is one who is so much greater than the one who wounded me, and I made the choice to believe and put my faith in Him.  And now, that choice is the one that will  make a much greater impact on my life going forward.  I am choosing to now look to my God, my savior and trust in Him to meet me in the midst of my pain.  No longer am I praying for Him to take it all away, no, I am praying that He would use my pain for His purpose, that He would help me find joy and peace in the midst of the sorrow.  That He would teach me to be a Godly woman, deep in compassion and overflowing with grace, mercy and forgiveness.

As I approached the Christmas holiday, I focused on the gift that I've already received in Jesus.  And that means my eyes are now on the solution.  My eyes will magnify the great and glorious God that has loved me from the beginning, accepts me in all my brokenness and promises to never leave my side.

I've missed you all terribly, but what can I say - I've been sojourning in the valley for a while and just starting to begin my climb up from below.  I'm back and will be bringing you up to date soon with lots of really fantastic things coming this way this year in our lives.

This week there will be a lot of catch up work on this blog - things might be a little hectic in terms of layout/design/etc. plus I have a few reviews I need to post, stick around anyway and watch me as BaxtronLife evolves!
